Catalog Manager Dialog

New Catalog. Creates a new, blank catalog.

Open Catalog. Opens any saved catalog.

Close Catalog. Closes the current catalog, leaving the catalog window empty.

Save Catalog. Saves the current catalog.

Save Catalog As. Saves the current catalog under a different name, creating a copy of it.

Catalog Properties. Displays the file name and location of the current catalog, the unit of measure used, and author information.

Add Group. Adds a new group to the catalog. Once the group is added, type a name and press ENTER.

Delete Group. Deletes a group from the catalog provided the group contains no elements.

Rename Group. Lets you rename an existing group. Type the name and press ENTER.

Add Element. Adds a new element to the catalog.

Delete Element. Deletes an element from the catalog.

Element Properties. Displays the property pages of the currently selected element. Properties can be edited.

Materials. Opens the materials library, where you can add and edit materials, and import custom textures. Materials are used in 3D views when your display mode is set to Rendered or Rendered Outline.

Patterns. Opens the patterns library, where you can edit patterns. Patterns are assigned to materials, and are used in 3D views when your display mode is set to Patterned.

Manufacturers. Opens the Manufacturers library, where you can add and edit manufacturer information that is attached to elements and materials.

Line Styles. Opens the line styles library where you can add, edit and delete line styles. Line styles are applied to electrical wiring and dimension styles.

Linetypes. Opens the linetypes library where you can add and edit linetypes. A linetype is part of a line style's definition.

Text Styles. Opens the text styles library where you can add, edit and delete text styles.

Dimension Styles. Opens the dimension styles library where you can add, edit and delete dimension styles.

Light Sources. Opens the light source library where you can add, edit and delete light sources, and import custom IES files. Light sources are things like light bulbs. They are part of a light fixture's definition.

Building Configuration. Lets you edit the element selections for House Builder Wizard configurations, or create a custom configuration.

Kitchen Configuration. Lets you edit the element selections for Kitchen Builder Wizard configurations, or create a custom configuration.

Shed Configuration. Lets you edit the element selections for Shed Builder Wizard configurations, or create a custom configuration.

The Catalog Manager lets you add and edit elements in the catalog, and create new catalogs.

Menus

The Libraries menu provides access to various customizable libraries of items used by elements, such as materials and text styles. It also contains options for specifying custom element configurations for the House Builder Wizard, Kitchen Builder Wizard and Shed Builder Wizard.

Dialog Components

Element. Displays the currently selected element type. Click the drop box to display a complete list of element types.

Select a Type. This window displays a list of groups for the current element type.

Select an Element. This window displays a list of elements for the currently selected group.

Expand. Click this button if you want to import elements from another catalog into the current catalog.

Collapse. When the dialog is expanded, click this button to collapse the dialog back to its original state.

Import Item. Imports an item currently selected in the right-hand catalog into the current catalog. The group name is imported also.

Import All. Imports the entire list of groups and elements in the right-hand catalog into the current catalog.

The preview window displays the currently selected element. You can rotate the preview around by clicking and dragging with your mouse. Right-clicking in the preview window provides access to other display options, such as Wireframe.
