Block Import Options Dialog

When importing custom objects, this dialog lets you select a group to store the block's materials in, and scale the block to an appropriate size.

Create Components From. For DXF files you can choose from Colors or Layers to create the object's components from. Since 3DS objects are essentially an assembly of materials, the only selection for 3DS objects is Materials.

Material Location. The group in the materials library where the block's materials will be stored. By default, a new group is created.

Select. Allows you to select a group in the materials library to store the block's materials in.

Convert File From. If you know what units were used to create the object, select the units from the Convert File From drop box. Otherwise, select the unit of measure in the Convert File From drop box that will result in a logical Resultant Width, Resultant Depth and Resultant Height. Selecting Custom lets you specify a custom scale in the Custom Scale edit box.

Custom Scale. If Custom is selected in the Convert File From drop box, specify the custom scale here. The scale is the multiplication factor of the units used for objects in the block. For example, if you're converting a file that you assume was created in feet and inches, the scale is 25.4.

Resultant Depth. The resulting front-to-back depth of the element as determined by the selected unit of measure.

Resultant Width. The resulting width of the element as determined by the selected unit of measure.

Resultant Height. The resulting height of the element as determined by the selected unit of measure.
